In 1983, Psychologist Howard Gardner published his research on intelligence and potential at Harvard University. He theorized that there are multiple forms of intelligence: 

 

• Linguistic

• Logical-Mathematical

• Spatial

• Bodily-Kinesthetic

• Musical 

• Interpersonal

• Intrapersonal

• Naturalist

 

Although this theory is somewhat controversial, we can all agree that Gardner’s eight forms of intelligence can be called “talents” and that identifying, enhancing, and leveraging ones talents is essential to achieving self actualization. Unfortunately, we currently test and value two of these: linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence. 

 

We believe that all forms of intelligence, or “talents,” are present in every person. We also believe that uncovering, enhancing, and celebrating them is essential to maximizing the quality of life of all individuals, families, and society.
